| Coal empties (BNSF E-BSBCDM) from Otter Tail Power's plant near Big Stone City, South Dakota cruise west on what was once the Milwaukee Road's mainline to the Pacific Northwest. Much has changed along these tracks since the demise of the Milwaukee Road - for example, traffic is down to about 3-6 trains per day and, west of Hettinger, North Dakota, the vintage signals have been deactivated and completely ripped out in places. |
