Nice view of the former Pennsylvania interlocking tower for the PRR/Monon crossing now under Conrail control.The double track in front of the tower is the former PRR trackage which fell into CR contraol. A small section of the Monon trackage can be seen in the right side of the photo. Hoosier rail fan Dick Berry took this photo of the Conrail/Monon tower before the Monon trackage was pulled up. The photo comes from his original negative now in my collection. |

This is another view of the former PRR interlocking tower for the PRR/Monon diamond. The tower fell into the CR family and lasted into the 1980's before being torn down. The icontic pointed Monon semaphore can be seen to the far right side of the photo. The Monon trackage was removed in the early 1970's. This photo was made from Hoosier rail fan Dick Berry's original negative now in my collection. |
