Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad F3 127A at North Kansas City, Missouri on June 7, 1963, photographer unknown, duplicate slide by Al Chione, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 127A was built by EMD completed in August 1948 ( c/n 5884 ), traded on a GP40 order in March 1968. Hol Wagner adds: It was one of only eight F units equipped ( retrofitted ) with nose MU connections, two receptacles on the right, a round one for control functions and a rectangular one for dynamic brakes, a safety chain was attached beside the right nose door grabiron, and nine control hoses on the pilot - four on the right side, five on the left. |
