Description:
Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-6-2 class S-1-A 2864, date, location, and photographer unknown, print by Riverview Publications, Chuck Zeiler collection. The selected date and location based on my best guess, the locomotive appears to be fitted with a Curtis turbo-generator for suburban train lighting, and if so, this would likely be the Downers Grove, Illinois suburban coach yard. Number 2864 was built by Baldwin in 1909 (c/n 33490), rebuilt by CB&Q in 1926 to a class S-1-A, sold for scrap in March 1951.
