Here is the first of two original photos of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8147, an N-2SA (2-10-2) "Santa Fe" built by the American Locomotive Company as N-2S number "7562" during March of 1919, renumbered "8147" upon delivery, rebuilt in Juniata as an N-2SA, and retired in February of 1949 after 30 years of faithful service. Here is another example of a 1919 Alco built Santa Fe type locomotive. Looks like it might already be in the scrap line in 1949. Specifics N-2 class, 63" drivers, 190 psi boiler pressure, 30x32" cylinders, engine weight of 380,700 lb, tractive effort of 73,829 lb. The class was scrapped between 1948-53. No photographer listed. |
