Description:  Here is the first of two original photos of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8147, an N-2SA (2-10-2) "Santa Fe" built by the American Locomotive Company as N-2S number "7562" during March of 1919, renumbered "8147" upon delivery, rebuilt in Juniata as an N-2SA, and retired in February of 1949 after 30 years of faithful service. The names of the photographer and of the Engineman pictured here, as well as the exact date and the location, are not recorded. Gary Mittner Collection.

Description:  Here is another example of a 1919 Alco built Santa Fe type locomotive. Looks like it might already be in the scrap line in 1949. Specifics N-2 class, 63" drivers, 190 psi boiler pressure, 30x32" cylinders, engine weight of 380,700 lb, tractive effort of 73,829 lb. The class was scrapped between 1948-53. No photographer listed.
