KCSM 4755 on JR4  Contributor's Pick!
KCSM 4755 is on JR4 having crossed the Diamond and is rounding the curve from the Port Reading Secondary to the Chemical Coast Secondary at CP-RON in Port Reading, NJ 8/3/2024. The paint job on KCSM 4755 is pretty ratty looking. At least its still unpatched and still in Southern Belle colors until the paint shop gives it a CPKC, mainly CP paint scheme sometime in the future.

Tom Beckett General KCS started getting new power in the Belle scheme in 2007(this one has photos dating to March 2007 on RRPA), though older units took a while to get repainted. This unit was delivered in this scheme. Don't know if it ever got a repaint; I suspect not. There are a lot of now older diesels in this scheme that look pretty awful after well over a decade in service. For what it's worth, there are still KCSM units running around in gray-a couple were here on the Heavener Sub last weekend. Almost all, if not all, of the KCS units that were not Mexican are in the Belle scheme now, and have been for a few years. It took well over a decade to reach that point. I doubt we'll be seeing many CPKC painted units any time soon.-right now there are two, 4805 and ex KCS ES 44, and CP 9375, which I think is an EMD. I read somewhere recently that CPKC is not yet an official reporting mark, so these engines will remain unpatched for the immediate future. Meanwhile, I'm shooting them every chance I get out 8/6/2024 6:15:34 AM
Tom Beckett General I lied, CP 9375 is an ES44AC. Anyway, the 4755 kinda backlit, but looking a little better on a northbound empty grain train at Decatur Ark http://rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=5871411 8/6/2024 6:20:01 AM
