Originally built by Pullman-Standard in 1949 as ACL 54 seat coach #247, it was used in the City of Miami car pool. In 1971, it was sold to Amtrak as #5479. Later it was sold to at least one private owner before landing at the Indiana Railway Museum. It was rebuilt in 2019 as a table car for multi-puirpose uses. For some strange reason, the IRM chose a Northern Pacfiic color scheme for their southern Hoosier based tourist train. Whatever happened to the Hoosier Monon colors so prevalent in French Lick at one time??? |
