| Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Indianapolis, Indiana, on 11 August 1963. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8446, an AS-16A road switcher built by the American Locomotive Company as an AS-16A in October of 1952, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and later rebuilt as an AS-16AM. All of that black smoke reminds me of the good ol' days of steam! |
