| Here is a fine example of a Lima Locomotive built 2-10-2 Santa Fe type loco following the "power at speed" concept that Lima had developed. CIM #701 was built in February of 1931 and lasted as an excellent power source for long car drags across Illinois until being retired and scrapped in December of 1955 after nearly 24 years of service. Specs - H-1 class, 63" drivers, 200 psi, 30"x32" cylinders, engine weight was 405,600 lb and generated a tractive effort of 77,714 lbs. Arthur B Johnson took this photo. |
