To supplement CR-contracted ex-PC E-units, NJ Transit leased NTSB E-8A 210 (ex-Amtrak 210, nee-B&O 1463) until May, 1981. The E-unit receives service alongside repainted ex-PC E-8As at the South Amboy engine facility on August 17, 1979.
