Horseshoe Curve-1966. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, during early May of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2274 and #7228. Both were built by EMD. #2274 is an EF-25 built in 1964 and rated at 2,500 HP. #7228 is an EFS-17M built in 1957 and rated at 1,750 HP. They are pulling a smokin' eastbound coal train, whose caboose is visible in the distance. |
