Horseshoe Curve-1966. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, during early May of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2302, #2501, and at least two others whose numbers are not visible. #2302 is an EF-25 built by EMD in 1964 and rated at 2,500 HP. #2501 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in 1962 and rated at 2,500 HP. They are pulling a westbound merchandise freight under four-track Signal Bridge #2416. |
