Horseshoe Curve-1966. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, during early May of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2529, #2535, and #2207. #2529 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2535 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2207 is an EF-22 built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They are pulling a westbound merchandise freight. Note the PRR logo on the second highway trailer. |
