Amtrak. Here is an original photo that I took of an Amtrak passenger train in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on 30 August 1976. Shown here is Amtrak engine #592 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. #592 is an SDP40F built by EMD in May of 1974 and rated at 3,000 horsepower. They are waiting to pull a passenger train to Pittsburgh and points West. My friend Twyla Jean King is chatting with the fireman. |
