MEC had four of these Class X 2-6-6-2s all from the B&M and frequently used in helper service on the Mtn Division. Number 1203 was originally B&M #1293 (renumbered B&M 3002), built in November of 1910 by Alco-Schenectady. It only operated on the B&M for a year or so when it came to the MC in January of 1912. Of the four locomotives in this class it lasted the longest to be retired in 1935. This photograph apparently shows the engine on the dead line at Waterville.
