LISE came up the NY Connecting RR from Fresh Pond, where it interchanged with the LIRR. Power was typically a set of GE's, several hundred of which were based at Selkirk, including on occasion one of more of the U36B's that were built for Auto Train. Don't think I ever saw an EMD road unit. The SW1500 was to run local cars on the Bay Ridge Branch beyond Fresh Pond, which CR owned at the time. The departure back to the Bronx depended on how long it toook to service the branch, but it was typically several hours. Here it crosses over Queens Blvd on a series of concrete arches. |
