Seaboard System long distance local #507 is preparing to depart for Waycross, GA with three SD40-2's for power and a train dominated by pulpwood loads
Seaboard System SD40-2 #8018 was built April 1979 as L&N 8018 and later became CSX 8018. L&N 3574 was built October 1974 and later became Seaboard System 3574, then SBD 8202, then CSX 8202. L&N 1259 was built March 1974 and later became Seaboard System 1259; then SBD 8163; then CSX 8163 and later CSX 2430. A great contrast of the five year evolution of the radiator is evident between the 1st and 2nd unit. Also, the 3rd unit, L&N 1259, was the 1st SD40-2 built for the L&N
