Here is an original 35mm color slide by Paul Carpentino that was taken while riding in an excursion train at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 1 November 1987. Prominent here is former Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7048, an EFS-17M road switcher built by GM-EMD in December of 1955, rated a 1,750 horsepower, later owned by the Penn Central Railroad and Conrail, and finally enshrined at the Curve on 5 September 1985.
