| The geep assigned to the Athens local had broken down on the main outside the depot, so the crew had to commander this set of power that was sitting at Fowler to drag the train off the mainline to get out of the way of Q194. To my surprise one of the units was actually a newly rebuilt SD50-3, allowing for a rare chance for me to get a standard cab EMD in good light in Athens. The unit was not online with the GEVO doing all the work, so despite the big ugly air conditioners on the roof, the crew had to rely on the old fashioned air conditioning on this hot day. |
