UP 3040         
This SD40X unit was formerly EMD demo 434A, among the first built with the AR-10 alternator and 645 engine. It had flared radiators like an SD45 and rode on an SD35 frame. UP 3040 was retired 8/86 and traded in to EMD. Date of photo approximate.
