This stylish looking 4-6-2 Pacific type steam locomotive was built by the Canadian Pacific's own Angus Shops in 1913. Original specs - class G1e, 75" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22.5x28" cylinders, engine weight of 219,000 lb, tractive effort of 32,130 lb. The class was upgraded to Schmidt Type A superheaters between 1922-1927 by the CPR shops and reclassified as class G1u. The loco was retired in May of 1961 and scrapped. No location, exact day in 1946 or photographer was listed for this photo. |
