Quick passing told me it was either light engines again or a very short train. Then I heard the conductor set the North Siding Switch Flynn for the siding and clear the engineer to back in. Then a Hallcon driver came on the radio announcing their arrival. So something was getting left on “my” siding.
When dawn broke this morning, and the dog needed to be let out, I caught a glimpse of a BNSF split power sandwiching a lot of yellow in the middle.
As today turned into a dark, rainy, cold day (for Texas – not for me). I had shopping to do first, and when I got home, I investigated further.
Relco Multi-Purpose Machine 33 (MPMXXXIII) was now in residence with BNSF split power front and rear.
Later in the afternoon, a GREX supervisor came, looked over the equipment and left. Hallcon came very shortly after and dropped off a BNSF crew. They pulled the train onto the main, dropped the trailing locomotive, placed the MPM back on the siding, set the brakes, and cut away the north locomotive, which took the main, backed down to the trailing locomotive, coupled up and took off for Teague.
Sorry, didn't get the power unit this time. But, I have a feeling i'll be seeing a lot of it in coming week.
