Built by EMD in October of 1959 as SOU SD24 #2504, it had a trek through renumbering to SOU 6302. It was sold to PNC where it went through a period of lease and rebuild into SD18M. Finally the last leasee, CNW, bought the unit. No info was given with the original color negative but this may have been taken during a CNW Proviso Yard openhouse in June of 1987. |

Here's another Chicago & North Western SD18M loco whose life was similar to its sisters on the CNW roster. Originally built in December of 1959 as a Southern Rwy SD24 (#6952), it was sold to PNC, rebuilt and leased out. Chicago & North Western then purchased it and renumbered it as CNW SD18M #6643. No info was given with the original color negative but this may have been taken during a CNW Proviso Yard openhouse in June of 1987. |
