Sitting in what appears to be a storage/scrap line is this Alco-Manchester 0-6-0 yard switcher #240 built sometime between 1903-1910. Specs - G-10 class, 52" drivers, modest 160 psi boiler pressure, 19x24" cylinders, engine weight of 127,800 lb, The G-10 class was retired by December of 1948 although some were sold to M&WR. B&C and others. No exact month or day was given for the photo but it was taken by L.P. Cimwall (?). |
